The Bid Coordinator will support estimating, outside sales, and inside sales.  The individual will be responsible for coordinating all of UEP’s bids, communicating with both customers and other UEP employees.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

  • Maintain and regularly update bid calendar
  • Review bid list, organize plans, and specifications
  • Communicate with general contractors, mechanical contractors and owners as needed
  • Communicate and coordinate with sales team regarding upcoming projects, attend pre-bid meetings and review engineering requests.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To (cont.) 

  • Receive, organize and review bid documents
  • Support estimators, ensuring up-to-date plans, specifications, and addenda are received and filed
  • Contact & distribute bid documents to manufacturers when applicable
  • Review construction web sites, contractor ftp sites, K-12 and University bid sites, for upcoming projects

Requirements 

  • Sales support and customer service experience in related industry
  • Self-Motivated with excellent communication skills, writing skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications and PDF software
  • Bachelor degree preferred, but work experience will be considered

Additional Attributes a Plus

  • CRM software such as Salesforce
  • Understanding mechanical drawings and written specifications
  • Experience with mechanical/plumbing equipment
  • Member of PHCC, ASHRAE, ASPE, MCAA, SMACNA, PMA

 

United Energy Products (UEP), a family-owned and operated manufacturer’s representative firm for venting and mechanical equipment products, is looking for a Senior Estimator to join the team.  We value teamwork, quality, and integrity, which is our most important core value. 

 

We need a Senior Estimator who can easily and effectively liaise with clients while seeking and cultivating new opportunities.  Growth is vital to our company, but not at the expense of our customer service.  If you have experience in the HVAC, plumbing or electrical fields and want to create a long-term career for yourself within an organization that promotes growth and leadership, UEP would like to speak with you.

 

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead, Manage and hold Estimating team Accountable
  • Communicate with general contractors, mechanical contractors, and owners as needed
  • Renew bid list, organize plans and specifications
  • Maintain and regularly update bid calendar
  • Communicate and coordinate with sales team regarding upcoming projects
  • Review and interpret mechanical plans, specifications, and CAD drawings to perform takeoffs
  • Estimate equipment and costs required to provide material in the sale of commercial HVAC products
  • Generate formal quotation documents based on bill of material from estimate
  • Return all bid requests back to bidders in a timely manner
  • Help lead, train and direct junior estimators
  • Follow up on existing bids
  • Assist in the management of won projects
  • Review construction websites, contractor FTP sites, K-12 and university bid sites for upcoming projects
  • Establish key relationships within the industry

Successful Candidates Must Have:

  • 10 + years estimating/sales related industry experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but will consider relevant work experience
  • Detailed understanding of mechanical drawings and written specifications
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to work autonomously with little supervision
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications and PDF software
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD is preferred
  • Understanding of the Bidding Process within the HVAC Industry
  • Understanding of Salesforce and other CRM’s a plus
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Experience with mechanical/plumbing equipment including venting such as condensing water and steam boilers, pumps, HX’s, generator exhaust boiler exhaust flue & exhaust fans

The Sales Engineer actively promotes company represented factories with the local consulting engineering community. This team member will aggressively pursue equipment sales with all contractors and building owners and will develop a close relationship with their respective inside team.  If you have experience in the HVAC, plumbing or electrical fields and want to create a long-term career for yourself within an organization that promotes growth and leadership, UEP would like to speak with you.

 

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Work with contractors daily
  • Coordinate and attend project review meetings
  • Regularly visit customer base to ensure relationship development
  • “Take Off" projects that are not handled by estimating department
  • Quote any “Design/Build" projects and follow up on all quotes
  • Finalize “Buy Numbers" and negotiate project quotes, obtain special pricing approval from the factories and review of estimate
  • Generate submittals and any re-submittal required for approval
  • Help coordinate and resolve any project related issues
  • Work with consulting engineers to maintain, update and educate on factory information and products
  • Schedule and provide support for factory product and information seminars
  • Generate “Budget & Pre-Submittals” for any equipment selections required
  • Increase market penetration/basis of design
  • Work with and support the Inside Sales & Estimating teams

Successful Candidates Must Have:

  • Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude and excellent people skills
  • Ability to handle situations efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • 7 + years sales experience
  • College degree desired but not required
  • Experience with mechanical/plumbing equipment including venting a plus
  • Experience with condensing water & steam boilers, pumps, HX’s, generator exhaust, boiler exhaust flue and exhaust fans a plus
  • Detailed understanding of mechanical drawings and written specifications
  • Understanding of Salesforce and other CRM’s a plus
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Strong customer service and relationship building skills
  • Clean MVR record, valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
