Senior Project Manager – Venting Sales

Position type: Full-time

Reports to: Vice President Vent Sales

United Energy Products, Inc. is searching for a Senior Project Manager for its Crofton, MD office. UEP is a manufacturer’s representative in the HVAC industry that specializes in Boilers, Water Heaters, and Venting solutions. United Energy Products (UEP) has been in business since 1984.

We have a need for a professional Senior Project Manager for our venting division, interacting with contractors and engineers in the Maryland, Washington, DC, and Northern Virginia market. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic self-starter who is eager to become an integral part of our success. The successful candidate will be persistent and focused with the desire to build and sustain existing business relationships while developing new ones. We will provide comprehensive product training. The professional will provide the drive and desire to succeed.


Be actively involved in local construction projects, bidding and selling products offered by company-represented factories.

Use contract documents provided by local contractors to produce 10-25 quotes/proposals per week.

Follow up on previously generated proposals, negotiating final numbers and ultimately selling projects to local contractors.

Once projects are sold, be responsible for management of these projects including in-office generation of submittals and sizing calculations out-of-office field measuring venting layouts and meeting on-site with contractors.

Develop a close relationship with the other project managers and estimators in the venting division to maximize profits by ensuring that all projects are properly quoted and managed.

This position requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, excellent people skills and the ability to handle issues in a fast-paced environment.


Work with Contractors. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Using AutoCAD & Microsoft Office programs, bid on projects using contract documents provided
  • Follow-up on quotes
  • Finalize “Buy Numbers” and negotiate project quotes. This includes obtaining special pricing approval from the factories and reviewing estimates
  • Generate submittals and any re-submittals required for approval
  • Field Measure approved venting materials with contractor, Release materials to factory for fabrication
  • Coordinate and resolve any project-related issues (Delivery, Warranty, Service, Returns, Etc.)

Work with Consulting Engineers. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Educate and update engineers and customers on latest software and product developments
  • Provide sizing calculations for all venting-related products at engineer’s request
  • Coordinate and resolve any submittal-related inquiries and issues

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Work is primarily in an office environment but may include site visits. The successful candidate must be able to operate standard office equipment and be able to use a computer to access, input and retrieve information. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical area of study, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, preferred or equivalent education and experience, with a technical or engineering focus.
  • 5+ years of customer facing experience in a similar role.
  • A self-starter who can develop and maintain relationships with business partners and individuals who are part of the business development process to generate additional business.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize.
  • Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and excellent people skills.
  • Detailed understanding of mechanical drawings and written specifications.
  • A strong work ethic
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Clean motor vehicle record, valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation are required.
