Junior Accountant

United Energy Products, Inc. currently has an opening for a Jr. Accountant in its Crofton, Maryland office. We are a manufacturer’s representative in the commercial HVAC industry and specialize in Boilers, Water Heaters and Venting. United Energy Products (UEP) has been in business in the Baltimore\Washington market since 1984. UEP is a family-owned company with an excellent reputation for integrity and high-quality equipment.

JOB DESCRIPTION 

  • Process weekly and bi-monthly payrolls for two companies using Intuit Assisted Payroll, with additional company payrolls anticipated
  • Benefits administration including employee insurance, HSAs, COBRA, 401K, and Worker’s Compensation 
  • Oversee employee timekeeping and labor distribution in accounting system 
  • Assist Sr. Accountant with monthly input of credit cards transactions, employee expense reports, and other tasks as needed 
  • Maintain current and historical accounting and human resources files

 QUALIFICATIONS  

The ideal candidate will have: 

  • Accounting degree 
  • 3-5 years of experience  
  • Exemplary attention to accuracy and detail
  • Strong accounting skills in recording transactions 
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills 
  • Utmost regard for privacy when handling sensitive payroll data 
  • High proficiency using QuickBooks accounting software and Intuit Assisted Payroll 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs
  • Understanding of the HVAC industry preferred 

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT  

  • Successful candidate must be able to operate standard office equipment. 
  • Must be able to use a computer to access, input and retrieve information. 
  • Must be able to move files and materials generally weighing up to 20 pounds.
